You may be asking what is AISI? AISI is “The Alberta Initiative for School Improvement (AISI) is a bold approach to improving student learning by encouraging teachers, parents, and the community to work collaboratively to introduce innovative projects that address local needs.” (Alberta Education, 2012).

AISI is a government funded program designed to improve student learning and performance by fostering initiatives that reflect the unique needs and circumstances of each school authority. This section details some of ALCA's past and current successful AISI projects, some of which were reprinted in the Alberta Education document, "2009 - Supporting English as a Second Language Students: Promising ESL Strategies in Alberta."
