Anticipatory Teacher Staffing

Anticipatory Teacher Staffing for the 2013-2014 School Year

A rewarding opportunity awaits you at Almadina Language Charter Academy. Our school is dedicated to providing quality education to students whose second or third language at home is English.

For the 2013-2014 school year, Almadina Language Charter Academy is seeking Homeroom Teachers for the Primary grades and Subject specialist for the Middle School.

Applicants must possess a valid Alberta Teaching Certificate, Alberta Interim Teaching Certificate, or be in the process of obtaining a Teaching Authority from the province of Alberta.

Candidates are required to have excellent working knowledge of student language acquisition/development, program and learning strategies, progress monitoring/evaluation; demonstrated excellence in literacy/language development; experience teaching children to learn to read; demonstrated experience with integration/application of technology; demonstrated openness, innovation and awareness of educational research related to ELL students; ability to work collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team; and excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Only successful applicants will be contacted for interviews.

At Almadina we have developed a strong language across the curriculum approach. Teachers are both language acquisition facilitators as well as subject and/or grade level specialists. ALCA is also an associate member of the Alberta Teachers' Association (ATA).

We conduct anticipatory staffing in the event there are leaves or unexpected enrollment increases throughout the school year. We welcome complete application packages from Alberta Certificated teachers for the upcoming school year. Application packages should include a cover letter indicating the opportunity of interest, a resume and 3 professional references. The package should also include a copy of your Alberta teaching certificate and a criminal record check.

If you are interested in teaching for ECS to Grade 4, please forward your package to Ms. Rumana Haque, Acting Principal of the Mountain View campus.

If you are interested in teaching Grades 5 to 9, please forward your package to Mr. Jamal El-Rafih, Principal of the Odgen Middle School Campus.
